Welcome to steveyochum.com ("the Site"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and the Site's owner ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Site — including its recipes, games, the Money 101 finance class, and other features — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Site is a personal project offered free of charge for your personal, non-commercial use. We may add, change, or remove features — including recipes, games, and lessons — at any time, and we may suspend or discontinue the Site (in whole or in part) without notice.
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Site you represent that you can form a binding agreement under applicable law.
When using the Site, you agree not to:
The Site lets you submit content such as feedback messages and recipe ideas ("Submissions"). You keep ownership of your Submissions. By sending a Submission, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, store, reproduce, adapt, and display it for the purpose of operating and improving the Site (for example, reviewing feedback or adding a suggested recipe to the collection).
You represent that your Submission is yours to share and does not violate any law or third-party right. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a Submission. We are not obligated to use, keep, or return any Submission, and we may remove content at our discretion.
Except for your Submissions and third-party materials, the Site and its content — including text, recipes, lessons, games, code, design, and graphics — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and use the content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Site's content without our permission, except where the law allows.
The Site links to third-party services — including hosted games, the SYTE Designs shop on Etsy, and social profiles. We don't control these services and aren't responsible for their content, products, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.
The Money 101 finance class and other materials are provided for general educational purposes only and are not financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
Recipes are shared for general informational purposes. We do not guarantee that any recipe is accurate, complete, or suitable for your dietary needs. You are responsible for checking ingredients for allergens and following safe food-handling practices. Use recipes at your own risk.
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site. Because the Site is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your Submissions, your use of the Site, or your violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms. We may also limit or terminate your access to the Site if you violate these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
